MonteCedro and Masterpiece Living
Turning the Science of Aging into the Art of Living Well.
Masterpiece Living is a unique community-wide program designed to increase the overall states of health and involvement for individuals who live, and work, at MonteCedro. The goal is to help maximize a positive approach to life so that aging becomes a period of growth and success as opposed to a steady decline in mental and physical abilities.

Masterpiece Living is more than a lifestyle, it’s a complete methodology for successful living. The end result is a group of healthy and vibrant individuals that are statistically better prepared to reduce the 12 Risk Factors of Aging as identified by the Mayo Clinic. Through a self-paced and results-oriented program, participants in Masterpiece Living experience increases in social interaction, self-awareness, a greater sense of purpose and higher states of physical and mental conditioning.
The fundamental principles of Masterpiece Living are based on the results from the landmark, ten-year study by the MacArthur Foundation on aging in America. The findings from this report shattered the traditional stereotypes of aging. We now know that 70% of physical aging, and about 50% of mental aging, is determined by the choices we make every day. Rather than being a process of steady decline, aging can be a time of growth—physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually. Recent research on aging indicates that it's possible to live long without significant disability if we maintain our physical and mental skills, reduce our risk for disease and injury and stay productive and engaged in life.
